Job Description
About The Role
The position reports to Head of Asia Competency Centre, and will coordinate day-to-day work activities with the Head of Project Manager, ASEAN.
Key Responsibilities
-
50% managing medium to complex network infrastructure deployment project(s). Some of these are global deployment for AsiaPac customers.
-
50% supporting Senior Project Manager in deploying global network infrastructure project(s).
-
This role may requires to base at customer sites to carry out stakeholders management and to assist customers to transition their current network/IT services to that of the company.
-
To accountable to working with customer business IT managers and suppliers to manage service delivery and service support model.
Others Secondary Accountabilities:
-
Manage the on-going service delivery (i.e. network, cloud, IoT, security and etc) and service support in order to meet customer secure access and compute requirements through:
-
Define service models and then assess the impact of new services or changes to existing services
-
Manage outsourced and insourced delivery of service capabilities
-
Manage service standards and service catalogues
-
Act as an executive point of escalation to resolve issues and commercial disputes
-
Ensure the use of agreed global, standardised IT Service Management processes
Additional Information
- Degree in business, science (or other relevant area), or equivalent relevant experience.
- Preferable process Project Management Certification ie. PMI PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner
- Minimum of 5 years project management experience in the telecom and/or IT industry managing external customer facing projects. Lesser experience will be considered as Associate Project Manager.
- Working in an international environment.
- Able to travel in special circumstance.
Job Requirements
About You
-
Must be fluent in English and preferable able to Japanese (verbal and written).

Must have at least 6 years of experience in Telco/IT services preferably from tier-1 Telco or IT service provider. Lesser experience will be considered as Associate Project Manager.

Must have at least 5 years of project management experience. Lesser experience will be considered as Associate Project Manager.

Must have at least 3 years of managing complex global projects – each project must value at least USD 1.0M excluding hardware and software. The candidate must demonstrate at least 3 complex projects. Lesser experience will be considered as Associate Project Manager.

Must have proven experience in managing and communicating effectively at senior and executive levels – with customer, vendor, and internal stakeholders.

Ability to engage and partner with customer, vendor, and internal staff very effectively.

Ability to identify & solve problems independently and effectively.

Develop the Project Charter ensuring sponsor buy in and sign off.

Ensure a project plan is prepared and maintained.

Direct and manage project execution.

Monitor and control project work.
-
Manage all change requests and integrate approved ones into the project plan.

Finalise all activities to formerly close the project or phase.
Project Scope Management

Delivering the agreed outcomes required from the project.

Conduct stakeholder analysis, define and manage customer expectations both stated and unstated.

Liaise with the business units for project inputs and regularly report to the sponsor.

Clarify details of contract and manage contract variations.
-
Manage any changes to scope using an appropriate change process.
-
Seek and manage opportunities to upsell.

Ensure acceptance of project deliverables by stakeholder/customer/sponsor.
Project Time Management

Achieve customer deadlines

Use a formal process to estimate times for all activities, sequence them and then prepare the schedule.

Control performance to meet the deliverables according to the schedule.
Project Cost Management

Plan, allocate and manage budgets using appropriate company tools.

Anticipate and give forewarning of any deviations from budget.

Control the budget within the limits of the project tolerances approved by the project sponsor.

Seek approval from the sponsor for any anticipated expenditure above the project budget.
Project Quality Management

Establish and plan quality requirements with customer and manage project to ensure compliance.

Employ effective corrective action techniques where required.

Use project health checks, reviews, audits and customer satisfaction surveys as a way of objectively monitoring project performance and quality.
Project Human Resources Management

Actively promote team effectiveness, morale, motivation and productivity.

Ensure the team buys in to the goals of the project and they are willing to extend themselves to meet the objectives.

Support competence development of team and of other staff (if applicable)

Manage the interface between internal resources and the customer.

Provide feedback to line managers of team member performance
Project Communications Management

Actively manage stakeholders utilising appropriate techniques.

Implement a project communication strategy to inform all stakeholders and provide regular reports.

Provide market information as to future business opportunities (if applicable).

Implements knowledge management initiatives supporting project communications.
Project Risk Management
-
Implement an effective risk management process for the project ensuring the team are fully engaged.

Mitigate, deflect or avoid risk threats whilst seeking to maximise risk opportunities.
Project Procurement Management
-
Generate procurement planning documentation for the project.
-
Work within the procurement management processes defined for standard ordering and subcontracting.
-
Manage third party suppliers as appropriate.
